GOOD NEWS!!!! A NEW CLOWN BOOK.

My newest book about Murano Glass clowns entitled "CLOWNING AROUND, A GUIDE TO MURANO GLASS CLOWNS" is now available. It has been several years since the writing of "The Forgotten World of Murano Glass Clowns." Much time has been spent over those years acquiring new and up to date information to help complete the Murano glass clown story further. In the new book you will find a complete time line of importers, what they imported and when, price lists, value appraisals, clown making techniques, information about old and new glass Masters and much more. The book is printed on high gloss stock and contains 160 pages, 50 are in full color. You will want to read the section entitled "The Collector's Corner." See and read the bio's and view pictures of the nice folks that make up a portion of the clown collecting community and enjoy pictures of some of their prized clowns. The book gives a complete and detailed spectrum of the Murano glass clown arena. Full catalog pictures show the clowns that were made from the 1950's to present time. AS AN ADDED NOTE....The issue of "SCORPION MARKS" seems to keep coming up. Here are a couple of helpful hints for those of you who are new to the Murano glass clown arena.

1) Sellers on the internet are in business to make money for themselves, not help you. If the item they are selling remotely resembles a glass clown, they will tell you it is Murano, when, in fact, it is not. It is a buyer beware market. If you want the genuine article, do your homework :)

2) The issue of "SCORPION MARKS" arises frequently and many of you have written wanting to know about them. Again, the sellers will tell you anything if they think it will sell their item. It is about them, not you. Scorpion marks are simply marks that were not polished off when the glass was removed from the rod. In other words, it is sloppy workmanship and adds nothing to the value of the clown. If the seller is touting these marks, beware. Either the seller does not know what he/she is talking about, or, you are intentionally being deceived.

Recently, I found a company in Austria who sells beautiful clowns that are being made in that Country. Evidentally, they have been in business since 1946 but do not heavily market their clowns. Kisslinger is the name on the label and their clowns are lovely quality, take a look KISSLINGER CLOWNS
